Caravan courses
If you are new to caravanning or towing we offer a 6.5 hour or 8 hour caravan towing and training course,
for the caravan course we use a Land rover Freelander 2 and Avondale caravan
On the session we will cover the skills needed for reversing a caravan, in a straight line, reverse around a corner and into various spaces. Attaching and detaching a trailer safely. discuss safe loading of a caravan, Also we will take you on the road to cover awareness when towing on the road. Negotiating all types of junctions and road types.
This is a great session for people who would like to feel more confident with their towing ability whether new to caravanning or would just like to improve their skills.
The course content can be adapted to suit your requirements, you may also use your own vehicle and caravan if you wish.
We can travel to you if local and use your caravan if you wish.
If time allows we can go to your storage pick up your caravan, have a reversing lesson onto your driveway or any other exercises you wish to do.
The sessions are on a 1:1 basis or for the same price you can bring a partner or friend and share the time behind the wheel.

The sessions can normally be done Monday - Saturday 8.30 - 6 pm (light permitting)

Towing for work
Safe use of trailers for work
Now all post 1997 drivers are allowed to tow up to 3500kg trailers many people will be towing for work purpose without any previous experience.
At Coventry trailer training we can teach yourself or employees how to reverse with a trailer on one of our towing training courses safely couple and un-couple a trailer and assess their on the road driving ability to ensure safe on and off road use of a trailer.
we have a Ifor Williams 10x 5 box trailer or a Ifor Williams 12 x 6 3500kg flat bed that could also be used.
At the end of the session a report can be supplied reflecting what tuition was given and what standard was reached by the candidate, with a summary of any area of their trailer use or driving which they need to work on.

Horse box towing
Safe transport for your horse
Do you need a trailer licence to tow a horsebox? Answer - - You should have automatically been given the licence when the Law changed late 2021.
However it may be beneficial to yourself and the horse to have some towing and reversing lessons .
Here at Coventry trailer training we understand you don't want to take your pride and joy on the road without feeling confident to do so.
We can teach you how to reverse your horse box trailer, uncouple and more importantly couple the horse box trailer on safely.
And just as importantly check your on road driving style is safe and comfortable for your horse or horse's.
We can come to your yard and practice reversing there or use our site.
Prices are £260 for a 6 1/2 hours or £130 for 3 hours 1-2 people can attend the course for this fee.
